About Visionaries of the Year

What is
a Visionary?

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY PRESENTS VISIONARIES OF THE YEAR

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Visionaries of the Year campaign is a 10-week philanthropic competition for leaders in local communities across the United States. Candidates and their team members raise funds for LLS in honor of local blood cancer survivors, our Honored Heroes. The title "Visionary of the Year" is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds during the competition. The top Visionaries of the Year candidate in the country is awarded with the national title.

How it Works

1

Individuals sign on to run as candidates in honor of two local blood cancer survivors within their community.

2

Candidates recruit team members to help with their fundraising and work with LLS Staff to map out a plan of success.

3

Campaigns kick off and fundraising begins. Candidates lead their teams in fundraising for 10 weeks.

4

At the end of the 10 weeks, a Grand Finale Celebration is held, and the total funds raised by candidate teams within a community, as well as the top fundraising teams, are revealed.
